In cooperation with AS Rake, Geopipes OÜ sells DuPont root-barrier geotextiles.
When creating solar parks to create maintenance-free ground, we sell a special geotextile called Plantex Platinium Solar, weighing 240 g/m2. If the material is left uncovered while being exposed to UV radiation all year round, its weed-inhibiting properties are guaranteed for 8 years.
By covering the material with mulch, for example, Solar’s weed control properties are extended to 25 years. The Platinum Solar geotextile panel can be joined using a special welding device. Alternatively, the panels can be joined using the provided butyl tape P10MS.
In the case of a cheaper solution, Plantex Gold with a weight of 125 g/m2 can also be used to make the base of solar parks maintenance-free. This material has lower UV resistance and the weed-resistant properties of weeds in the uncoated form are guaranteed to last for 3 years. If the material is covered with a bark mulch of about 5 cm thick, the service life will be extended to 25 years.
Both DuPont geotextiles allow:
– Abolish the use of herbicides that are harmful to nature completely in the area covered by the material, which very effectively prevent the overgrowth of vegetation with the most aggressive growth.
– Air, rainwater and nutrients to pass through the soil surface of the textile, thus ensuring the preservation of biodiversity in the soil.
– Achieve a completely maintenance-free substrate for solar parks for 3 or 8 years in uncoated form or 25 years in case of mulching.
– Place the solar panels closer together, as the tracks required for maintenance are no longer needed, thus achieving greater efficiency on smaller ground.
